JC Investigations & Process Serving is a fully licensed, bonded and insured private investigative firm located in the Denver Tech Center, which is south of Denver, Colorado.

JC Investigations offers investigative services for law firms and individual attorneys on civil cases, as well as criminal defense and family cases. In addition to offering investigative services, JC Investigation’s employees specialize in process serving, and they have a high rate of success on difficult process serves.

JC Investigations was founded by James McGuiness. Mr. McGuiness’ professional experience as a private investigator includes working on thousands of personal injury cases and process serves. Although his main area of investigative expertise is civil cases, he has performed numerous investigative work ranging from criminal defense cases to financial fraud to undercover workplace terminations and employee misconduct investigations.

Mr. McGuiness holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is an honorably discharged Marine Corps veteran. Mr. McGuiness is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Forensic Interviewer. Jurors find Jason Chilson highly persuasive. He has been qualified as an expert witness in county, state, and federal courts over 50 times in areas such as police policies and procedures, traffic investigations, accident investigations, accident reconstruction, and event data recorders. After serving as an Infantry Sergeant and Platoon Commander in the United States Marine Corp, Jason was employed with the Aurora Police Department for over 10 years. Jason has conducted numerous investigations while employed as a police officer and since as a private investigator, such as homicides, robberies, burglaries, fraud, sex crimes, domestic violence assaults, thefts, and firearms. During his tenure in law enforcement, he deepened his knowledge of speed analysis, drug recognition, SFSTs, HGN and use of force. Jason co-founded the DUI Unit for the City of Aurora. He served as a Special Operations Traffic Officer from 2012 to 2018 and has extensive experience in DUI and accident investigations. Jason has a full accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist #4540 through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).
